This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

In addition to its excellent mobility, the F-35 Lightning II is a fifth-generation jet fighter that combines high stealth, network operation capabilities, and situational identification capabilities through sensor fusion. Simultaneous development of three variants took place: a conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) F-35A for the Air Force, a short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) F-35B for the Marine Corps, and a carrier-borne (CV) F-35C for the Navy. The F-35A, which has been adopted by many countries (U.S. Air Force, Italian Air Force, and Japan Air Self-Defense Force), is expected to play an active role as the cornerstone of the air forces of Western countries.

This model kit from Tamiya pursues ease of assembly while maintaining the precision of a 1/48-scale model! It has been redesigned into parts division appropriate for 1/72 scale; the number of parts has been kept to less than half of the 1/48-scale version.
