1/35 WWI Mark A Whippet

Takom continues the cavalcade of fantastic World War I tanks with this amazingly accurate and detailed release of one of the most popular tanks of the war, the Mark A Whippet Medium Tank! 

 

Armed only with four Hotchkiss .303 machine guns, the 14-ton Whippet was a "high-speed" design that could traverse the battlefield at 8 mph (13 kph), which was a significant improvement over the Mark IV Heavy Tank, which could only manage about 4 MPH (6.4 kph), half the speed of the Whippet. 200 Whippets were built, serving with the British, German, and Russian armies. After the war the type became Japan's very first tank when six or so were sold to Japan in 1922, serving into the 1930s.
