Tamiya 1/35 Matilda Mk.III/IV

The British Matilda is a favorite subject of Allied armor modelers around the world, who up until now have had to make do with the decent but aging original Tamiya release of this venerable tank. That old kit suffered from proportional problems caused by its motorization, among other things...but now all that has changed, as Tamiya releases this fantastic new kit of the Matilda, in a Mark III/IV version! The detail is stunning, the proportions are dead on, and the accuracy is impeccable. The kit features your choice of flexible belt-style or injection-molded link-and-length style tracks, with a very detailed suspension and the inclusion of three crew figures. Also includes three marking variations, and three different types of main gun barrels, although only one is mentioned in the instructions--must be a sign of forthcoming variations! The three types appear to be the 2 Pounder for this version, a 6 Pounder, and a 3-inch gun. Again, that's what they appear to be! Anyway, this is a very welcome addition to any Allied armor collection!
