Launched in 1916, the Repulse was a British Reknown class battlecruiser that combined the firepower of a battleship with the speed and mobility of a cruiser, at the expense of armor. Along with the Prince of Wales, she was sunk by Japanese aircraft on December 10, 1941, the first time in history that capital ships actively defending themselves on the open sea were sunk solely by airpower.
Trumpeter's big Repulse kit is yet another excellent addition to the ever-growing fleet of 1/350-scale warships. Featuring rich detail befitting a model of this size, the kit includes photo-etched metal detail parts, two Walrus recon seaplanes molded in clear plastic, and your choice of moveable main cannons or fixed cannons with blast bags. Measures 69.2cm (about 27 1/4 inches) long when finished.
