3020 Republic P-47 Thunderbolt vol. II – Tomasz Szlagor, Krzysztof Janowicz – ISBN 83-89088-84-3

The second part of the monograph on the P-47 Thunderbolt constitutes a thorough insight into the origins and development of the ‘bubbletop’ versions of the aircraft from P-47D-25 to N-25 variant. Each variant is specified and described. The book discusses the combat use of P-47s in the PTO since their debut in this theatre of operations to the end of WW2, including little-known actions over Japanese home islands. The battles over Europe from January till May 1944 and over Italy are also depicted. The author uncoveres the fates of particular fighter units as well as individual pilots who fought in them.
English & Polish text, 128 pages, 126 photos (including 13 in colour), 18 sheets of 1:48 scale drawings, which include specification of external changes in production-run versions of the aircraft, 6 pages of colour charts with 16 examples of camouflage schemes.
