This item is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

The Curtis XP-55 was a prototype fighter aircraft made by Curtis-Wright for the US Army Air Force in the 1940's. Curtis' design featured propellers and small wings near the neck, an unusual design at the time. The first flight trial was done in July 1943, but because the development of the X-1800 engine that was planned to be installed had been canceled, the 1,000 hp Allison V-1710 I was used instead. Prototype 1 crashed during a test in November 1943.

In the following year, the 2nd and 3rd machines were created, which featured a different width in the small wings to improve the maneuverability. However, maneuverability at low speed had not improved, and the development plan of this machine was canceled.

This kit recreates the XP-55 as its Unit 2 / Unit 3 form, and comes with paint masking seals, photo-etched parts and two kinds of decals. You can choose between an open or closed canopy while building. When completed it will be about 188mm in length, and about 258mm in width. Order today!
